Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurses Society (WOCN)
Founded in 1968, the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurses Society™ (WOCN®
) is a professional, international nursing society of more than 5000 healthcare professionals who are experts in the care of persons with wounds, ostomies, and incontinence. WOCN promotes educational, clinical, and research opportunities to advance the practice and guide the delivery of expert health care to individuals with wound, ostomy, and continence concerns.
National Health and Medical Research Council
The National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) consolidates within a single national organisation the often independent functions of research funding and development of advice. One of its strengths is that it brings together and draws upon the resources of all components of the health system, including governments, medical practitioners, nurses and allied health professionals, researchers, teaching and research institutions, public and private program managers, service administrators, community health organisations, social health researchers and consumers.
Beating Bowel Cancer
Beating Bowel Cancer is a national charity working to raise awareness of symptoms, promote early diagnosis and encourage open access to treatment choice for those affected by bowel cancer. Through our work we aim to save lives from this common cancer.
British Colostomy Assocation
The British Colostomy Association is the national registered charity which represents the interests of people with a colostomy and which provides support, reassurance and practical information to ostomates and anyone who is about to have a colostomy.
The British Ileostomy Association
IA, the Ileostomy and Internal Pouch Support Group (formerly known as the Ileostomy Association of Great Britain and Ireland) is a mutual support group which has the primary aim of helping people who have had their colon removed.
The International Ostomy Association
The International Ostomy Association, an association of ostomy associations, is committed to the improvement of the quality of life of ostomates and those with related surgeries, worldwide. It provides to its member associations information and management guidelines, helps to form new ostomy associations, and advocates on all related matters and policies.
The National Association for Chrohn's and Colitis
The National Association for Colitis and Crohn's Disease (NACC) brings together people of all ages who have Ulcerative Colitis or Crohn’s Disease, their families and the health professionals involved in their care.
The Urostomy Association of Great Britain
The Association was formed in 1971 as the Urinary Conduit Association to help people who are about to undergo or have undergone surgery resulting in diversion of the urinary stream. In 1984 the name was changed to the Urostomy Association of Great Britain & Ireland.
US National Osteoporosis Foundation
Established in 1984, the National Osteoporosis Foundation is the nation’s leading voluntary health organization solely dedicated to osteoporosis and bone health.

WHO's objective, as set out in its Constitution, is the attainment by all peoples of the highest possible level of health. Crohns and Colitis
Crohn's and Colitis New Zealand is a charitable trust which aims to provide support, advice, resources and information about Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. The organisation was established by individuals affected by Crohn’s and colitis, and medical specialists active in the treatment of these chronic diseases.
Otago Ostomy Society
The Otago Ostomy Society has a group of long standing Ostomates who have worked hard for the Society and Welfare of fellow Ostomates over many years and it is hoped they will continue to do so for many years.
Canterbury Ostomy Society
The Canterbury Ostomy Society covers an area from the Conway River in the north to the Rakaia River in the south and from the east to the main divide in the west. We currently have approximately 215 members including both ostomates and associates.
Taranaki Ostomy Society
Established in 1975 by a group of caring people with the mutual goal to provide Taranaki Ostomates and their families with support.
Western Bay of Plenty Ostomy Society
The goal of the society is to promote the welfare of Ostomates in the Western Bay of Plenty area and to provide the correct information to Ostomates so that they can live long and productive lives and reintegrate into the community.
